Blac Audio x Rising Tide Trust: Giving Back Through Sound

Idris is returning to where it all began, Rising Tide Trust, the East London arts charity that played a pivotal role in shaping his creative path. At just 17, Idris was one of many young talents who came through Rising Tide’s doors, alongside now-renowned artists like Labrinth, Simz, and many others who have gone on to make major contributions to music and culture.

Now a respected music composer, sound designer, and re-recording mixer, Idris is partnering with Rising Tide to deliver a series of short courses and workshops that introduce young people to the creative and technical disciplines he practices through Blac Audio.

Course Focus:

• Scoring music to picture – for film, TV, and branded content

• Capturing sound on set – production sound fundamentals

• Sound design and post-production – shaping immersive sonic experiences

These sessions will take place at Rising Tide’s creative hub, offering industry-level training, hands-on learning, and mentorship from someone who started in the same space.

Rising Tide Trust is a community-driven arts charity based in Hackney, East London. It supports 13–19-year-olds who want to access careers in the music and wider creative industries. Through workshops, masterclasses, and access to professional production and rehearsal facilities, Rising Tide creates meaningful pathways into employment for local youth.
